You will want to find a cost effective solution, but this is not an area to cut corners as the crane hoist\/wire rope hoist\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">does the primary work of lifting the load. \u00a0The crane hoist\/wire rope hoist is often the most critical part of an overhead crane.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.emhcranes.com\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/wire-rope.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-4956\" src=\"https:\/\/www.emhcranes.com\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/wire-rope-300x143.jpg\" alt=\"wire rope\" width=\"350\" height=\"166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.emhcranes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/wire-rope-300x143.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.emhcranes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/wire-rope.jpg 595w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/a>But picking the right crane hoist or wire rope hoist is not an easy process. \u00a0Just looking at one manufacturer &#8211; us (EMH) &#8211; we have hundreds of models of wire rope hoists with varying ratings for a number of wire rope hoist specifications. And when you are looking at the models of wire rope hoists, it could make your head explode as they are long and complex. \u00a0Here is what the wire rope hoists codes mean.<\/p>\r\n<p>Capacity, lift distance, and lift speed are apparent even to the novice wire rope hoist buyer. \u00a0Other specifications for a wire rope hoist are a bit more complex, including&#8230;<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Trolley Type<\/strong><br \/>\r\nEMH offers three primary crane hoist\/wire rope hoist trolley configurations for overhead cranes and monorails that have a capacity of up to 150 tons.<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>The &#8220;E&#8221;, or monorail trolley type, is used for\u00a0monorail and single\u00a0girder cranes up to 10 tons capacity.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>The &#8220;D&#8221; and &#8220;Z&#8221; hoist trolleys are used for top running double girder industrial cranes up to 50 tons capacity.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>The &#8220;H&#8221; type trolleys\u00a0are designed for\u00a0special applications requiring CMAA Class &#8220;D&#8221; and &#8220;E&#8221; service. EMH offers these trolleys in capacities up to 300 tons.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>Typically the\u00a0higher the model number, the larger, more durable, and more costly the wire rope hoist\/crane hoist and its components are.<\/p>\r\n<div title=\"Page 2\">\r\n<p><strong>Trolley Speed<\/strong><br \/>\r\n&#8220;E,&#8221; &#8220;D&#8221; and &#8220;Z&#8221; trolleys have variable frequency trolley drives. All wire rope hoist units have a 6:1 speed ratio while the trolley drives have a 4:1 speed ratio. \u00a0&#8220;H&#8221; type hoist trolleys are offered with variable frequency drives on all motions.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Wire Rope Hoist Hoist Duty Service Classification<\/strong><br \/>\r\nThere are many factors effecting the selection of the hoist unit for a given application.
