Gantry Cranes

EMH builds a complete range of gantry cranes including single girder, double girder, double leg, single leg, and cantilever styles for indoor or outdoor service. Capacities, spans and heights are virtually unlimited. See typical configurations.

Advantages of Gantry Cranes are:

Can be used where overhead runways are not practical.
A much greater bridge weight than an equivalent overhead crane.

Gantry Cranes are generally used for moving heavy loads, often outdoors. EMH has designed and built many large gantries with features such as rotating hoists, multiple hoists and enclosed cabs.

Gantry Applications

A 90 ton gantry with a 14 ton auxiliary hoist at a New England power plant.			A 25 ton, 120 foot outdoor gantry loads wall panels onto flatbed trucks. A single rotating"hammerhead" hoist, designed and built by EMH, provides precise positioning of the load.

This single leg, double girder gantry has a pass-through cantilever that allows hoist movement beyond the wall on the left. A fully enclosed cab controls all crane functions.			Several EMH gantry cranes are used at a major West Coast shipbuilding facility.

A double leg gantry with torsion box girder construction in a steel facility is shown above.			A 130/25/15 ton, 105 foot span, double girder gantry crane installs and services turbines at an overseas power plant. The crane uses three EMH engineered hoists. Two are mounted on a double girder trolley with service walkways and a torsion mounted hoist runs along the side of one girder. The crane uses eight bridge drives. The all-inverter controls are mounted in a stainless steel enclosure, covered by a sun shade, and air conditioned. SEE TYPICAL GANTRY CONFIGURATIONS
