EMH Custom Engineered Hoists
Intended primarily for Class "D" and Class "E" applications. Principal users include the steel industry, steel service centers, magnet, bucket and coil handling cranes, or any operation requiring a high number of cycles and large capacity. The modular design of this open winch hoist allows it to be adapted for heavy-duty applications and situations requiring special lift and speeds.

Standard capacities range from 10 to 300 tons.

Trolley design follows previous EMH standards by providing the highest quality engineering and innovations. 8/2 or 12/2 reeving is standard, assuring high capacity lift as well as "True Vertical Lift" (TVL). Gearbox is of unibody design, with many combinations of ratios, speeds and capacities possible for a wide range of applications.

All drives are inverter controlled for unlimited speed variation. A geared limit switch with one lower and two upper limits is standard. The trolley endtrucks, as with other EMH endtrucks, are direct drive, with fully enclosed gearing and inverter controlled motors.

COMPONENTS

Limit Switches
A geared limit switch with one lower and two upper limits is standard. Easily adjustable, the stepless limit switch brings the load hook to a positive stop at any desired position in both hoisting and lowering directions.

A weight activated limit switch (right) is also used as an additional safety measure to prevent potential damage to load and bottom block.

Hoist Brake
A DC-rectified, magnet-actuated disc brake is automatically applied in the event of power failure. The brake is self-adjusting and operates for over a million cycles without adjustment.

Hoist Reeving
4/2, 8/2 or 12/2 reeving is standard, assuring high capacity as well as "True Vertical Lift" (TVL) for accurate load placement.

Drum & Bearing Housing
Drum is of seamless steel tube construction with precision machined grooves. Foe maximum safety, at least two wraps of rope remain on the drum when the hook is fully lowered.IWRC (Independent Wire Rope Core) cable for excellent strength and crush resistance.

Trolley Drive
The trolley endtrucks, as with other EMH endtrucks, are direct drive, with fully enclosed gearing and inverter-controlled motors for unlimited speed variation.

Hoist Drive Assembly & Gearbox
EMH hoist motors are designed and built to meet the most exacting demands of hoisting service. They are well suited for the frequent reversal and high torque of heavy duty crane applications.

The inverter duty motor is equipped with an encoder for closed loop speed regulation. This compact feedback mechanism is directly coupled to the motor.

Unibody gearbox design allows many combinations of ratios, speeds and capacities available for a wide range of applications.
